When we talk about explorers, we often think of those who explored the world by ship or ground expedition. But it can include so much more. Those who have flown in space are also explorers. Regardless of where they’ve explored, we wouldn’t know what we know without them!

That’s why I think it’s important that we teach our kids about the men and women who have explored this world before us. They were the ones who found the Americas and introduced us to the Native Americans. They were the ones who took us to space and the moon. And they were the ones who introduced us to countries and peoples we may never see in person.

It is because of these explorers that we have geography and history books. So whether you choose to teach your children about one new country a month or focus on a specific region for the entire year, we hope these resources about exploration will be helpful.

We have gathered printables, activities, and even some crafts to help you put together a fun and exciting unit study about explorers.
