I have been to Minnesota three different times. Twice was for a business conference, so there wasn’t much sight seeing. But, the first time was on a choir tour in college. One of the members of our band lived there and we visited and sang in his home town, Bemidji, at the local college there. It was March, so the lake was still frozen and we all took a memorable trip out on Lake Bemidji. It was a little strange at first going out on a frozen lake, but we had so much fun together. I even caught one of our professors “sliding” across the lake, “because when can you do this again?”

I have gathered everything you need to teach and learn about the great state of Minnesota. :: www.homeschoolgiveaways.com

There are quite a few little sites to see around Bemidji, including the giant Paul Bunyon and Blue statues, which of course, I had my picture taken by them. There is also a statue of a local, Shawnowshkung aka “Chief Bemidji”, which we had to pose with too. The rest of the state has a rich history as well, so I hope to take the kids there one day to explore more.

Learn more about the state of Michigan with these great resources. Each state has a history, fun facts and wonderful sites to see. Over the next year, I will be sharing resources – printables, travel destinations and food favorites – from each state.
