Free Back to School

The first day of school is a favorite time for homeschoolers. There are many new things to learn, new books and curriculum, and a better routine to look forward to. We love not back to school day!

How do you make back to school special?

I like to make our first day back to school a memorable one. Since we start school on Labor Day, my husband is home from work and gets to be with us. I love including him in our fun not back to school traditions.

First, we start off with a special breakfast. This can be something simple like donuts, or it can be a big breakfast with all the fixings, a breakfast casserole or French toast. Next, we do first day of school presents. This is something even my teenagers look forward to each year! After we clean up from breakfast I lay their gifts out on the table.

I enjoy picking out special gifts for my kids in addition to basic school supplies they will need. One year everyone got homeschool t-shirts, another year they all got really nice reusable water bottles.

Finally, I have everyone take first day of school photos. Yes, even the teenagers get in on this. It is a great way to look back and see how your children have changed from year to year.

I have put together a list of different back to school printables that will help you to have a memorable first day of school.
