Each volcano listed includes the date and location. Your child’s job is to discover:
- what type of volcano it is
- what damage it caused
- other historic eruptions
- additional facts about the volcano
They will learn about Santorini’s eruption in ancient Greece, the cataclysmic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in Italy in AD 79, the eruption of Krakatoa that impacted nations on the other side of the world, volcanoes that erupted during the World Wars (and how that impacted the wars), and even an eruption in Iceland in 2010 that snarled air traffic for days.
