Today is the first post in our new 4 week Series we are doing on Reading Resources! Today we are sharing ideas and resources to use with McGuffey Readers!
Just this past year I discovered the wonderful McGuffey Classical Readers. I bought a set of the lovely hardback books from a friend and have enjoyed them ever since. I love the classical, simple and sweet feel of them. I love that they are vintage. We went to a Pioneer day this year and were sitting in a one room school house. The teacher held up a McGuffey Reader sharing that this is what the kids would have learned how to read out of. My daughters squealed in delight because they have learned to read out of the same books! They thought it was very special.
