The French and Indian War
The French and Indian War went on between the years 1754 and 1763 in what is now the United States and Canada. The war was between the French and the British with each side having Indian allies helping them fight. This conflict was a part of the Seven Years’ War among the European great powers including Britain and France. That war took place in various parts of the world.
The war ended with the signing of the Treaty of Paris on February 10, 1763. France was forced to give up all of its North American territory. All of Canada was handed over to Britain. The British North American colonists became unhappy over their share of the winnings. This eventually led to the American Revolution.
