When I think of how hard it will be for my kids as they grow older to live for Christ, I get so sad. It gets harder and harder as time goes by. I struggle with explaining to my kids just how hard it may be for them to follow Jesus. One way we can combat the struggles is by praying for our kids, constantly.
Our children are subject to so much. We truly are living in the days when what is good is considered evil and evil is considered good. There are evils in this world being normalized and it is quite scary to think about what they will deal with as they get older.
If you want to be intentional about praying for your children, this 30-day Bible challenge is an excellent way to start. The challenge shares 30 Bible scriptures to pray over your children. The Bible says if we draw near to Him, He will drawer near to us.
I wonder how many times we forget this. I honestly woke up this morning grateful and thanking the Lord for everything in my prayer time. I couldn’t stop finding things to thank Him for.
I also prayed something that caught me by surprise. I usually wonder how people go through trials and struggle without Christ. We Christians barely make it at times and we have the creator of the universe on our side. In prayer, I said, “Why am I doing things without you Lord?”
I guess I didn’t realize that even though I “say” how could people make it without Christ in this world, I do that very thing myself. I don’t seek Him in everything I do. The same goes for us contending in prayer for our kids.
We can worry all we want and protect our kids as much as we can, but without seeking the Lord’s face in prayer for them it is all in vain. Join me in this challenge to be intentional about praying for our children.
