I have to confess…I am not a big reader. I go through spurts where I will read an entire series of books in a short time span, to the point that I neglect life. But to have stacks of books sitting around waiting to be read, that isn’t me.
However, I do want my kids to be readers. I know that sounds strange, but when I find a good book, I love to read and I want my kids to love it too. I love being transported to a different world and time through words and I also want my kids to experience that as well.
However, reading can be tedious and boring when you’re first learning or for one who struggles. That’s when printables and activities come in handy. Having something hands-on to do that coordinates with the story being read can not only help with comprehension, but also retention.
Using these FREE printables and activities along with some of the most beloved children’s books are sure to be a big hit with your younger crowd. Check these out to use the next time you are reading one of these book in your homeschool. Or celebrate International Children’s Book Day (April 2nd) with a day full of book reading with coordinating printables and activities!
