It’s easy to keep the romance alive when you’re first starting out in a marriage, but as time goes on there are little things that can scoot it onto the back burner. It’s not just having more kids, but that these kiddos are getting older that displaces our resources. For example, it once was easy to find nice, inexpensive size-4 shorts for my young daughter; now she wears adult sizes which are harder to come by for an affordable price.

However, just because the funds once allotted to mom and dad’s dates may now be used in other areas, it doesn’t mean that parents can’t still go out and enjoy each other! This list of 25 Cheap Date Night Ideas is just a starting point. It’s easy to customize the ideas to your tastes and even the resources in your area.

If you’ve been married a long time, don’t let it stop you from trying one. My in-laws have been married over 50 years and for their last anniversary, they did idea 21. My father-in-law surprised my mother-in-law with it, and she loved it!
