Testimonials

I desperately need help with my tone of voice. I do nag also, even when I believe I have been patient. The tone is the worst though. I may be internally frustrated and it comes out as aggression.

Melissa

Thank you so much for starting this. You are an answer to prayers!!  Reading your email made me cry because finally I feel like someone understands what it is to try and not succeed in being silent or less wordy!!!

Katy

Loved the study! It covered so many topics that we often overlook and excuse. The "self-reflection" areas that recorded successes and the Bible memory verses included helped keep me accountable to the challenge. I actually decided to go through it again this new year.

I have so enjoyed this 12 week course. I have learned so much about myself.  Some things came to light that I didn't realize about myself. I have learned how to keep my mouth shut and still use my verses to help me when I get annoyed or upset.  I will forever be thankful for this opportunity.

Taming your tongue is no doubt a difficult task, but it's not impossible!

Our tongues are surely set on fire by hell, but thankfully the Lord offers us grace and mercy. The Keep Quiet Challenge will help you learn new habits and break the chains that keep our minds and mouths in bondage.

Scripture calls us fools when we cannot keep quiet (Proverbs 29:11). We drive our husbands to the roof (Proverbs 25:24) and annoy those around us like a continuous dripping (Proverbs 27:15-16).

“And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell.” James 3:6

Stop hurting the ones you love with your mouth.

Do words just fly out of your mouth when you open it? Maybe you are tired, stressed out, worried, or just irritated and you don’t mean to take it out on your family – but you do. When we lash out, even if unintentionally, it harms those we love.

It’s time to change, friend. Let me share with you practical steps to work through several different areas that may have taken root in your heart and live out through your lips.

“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” Ephesians 4:29

"I am so glad you've launched this program. I am a mom of three, married to a wonderful man, and I am so tired of my mouthiness and my sinful words... I have done anger-management courses, learned scripture, and even fasted for this. I can see the yucky words and tones creeping in to my daughters' and son's mouths and hearts - and it kills me. I don't want to cause them to stumble."

Meet the best friends behind the Keep Quiet Challenge

Carrie and Jeannette have been best friends since the late 90’s, way before knowing their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Once getting to know Jesus, their lives were radically transformed and blessed through repentance within months of each other.

For over twenty years now, Carrie and Jeannette have walked with each other through many of life’s ups and downs. With a No-holds-barred approach to their friendship, they have truly seen each other at their very worst and their best.

Carrie and Jeannette have joined together on this raw examination of their hearts to work towards the goal of glorifying the Lord with not only their hearts, but their mouths too! Many times they thought about giving up. Many times they felt unworthy, yet knowing the Lord has put this in their hearts, they continued onward.

They well know that time and time again the Lord has used people who felt unworthy. He used people who didn’t deserve to be used. He used people who failed over and over. They definitely fit that standard, and went into this knowing that if this challenge could even help one person, even one of them – it was worth it.

I grew up in a dysfunctional home around women who ruled the roost. Through learned behavior and a dreadfully sinful heart, I developed the terrible habit of having a harsh tone of voice and snapping at the people I loved the most. Thank God for His mercy-FULL redemption!

The Keep Quiet Challenge is a project born out of desperation to once and for all tame my beast of a mouth. I look forward to growing in the Lord with you!

Jeannette Tuionetoa

I grew up in the Bronx, New York and had a pretty tough upbringing. Some of it was circumstance, some was self-inflicted. After being hurt over and over by people that came into my life, I learned to trust no one and to form a wall between me and – well, everyone else I met.

I was suspicious of everyone and felt as if I needed to defend myself, because no one else ever did. Years later, I would grow to know the Lord and Him know me. I brought along my baggage, including a mouth that often tore down. I am ready to lay it at His feet.

Side note: using pictures of each of us holding coffee is purely coincidental. :-)
