This has definitely been a different kind of year. From an almost entire worldwide shutdown to crazy weather happening (at least in our neck of the woods), this year will be one to remember for sure. And now we’ve reached the halfway mark but it feels like we’ve hardly done anything.
As a fulltime traveling family, we love to move around and see new places, but for the last 7 months we’ve been in one state. But we are busting out and finally heading to a few new states for the rest of the year. But one thing that saves us money while traveling is using a meal plan.
We have some tried and true go-to foods our kids will always eat, but we do try to mix things up on occasion. My husband loves trying new foods and some of my more adventurous kids do as well. I have a couple of picky eaters though so we just keep their favorites on hand. So a monthly (sometimes weekly) meal plan is how we stay on track with our spending.
Holiday Meals & Treats
If you live in the United States, July is the time we celebrate the “birth” of our country. Independence Day is quickly approaching and with it on a Saturday this year, that gives you a great opportunity for gathering with friends and family to celebrate the day. And if you want a fun, themed party, be sure to check out these delicious Patriotic themed recipes!
And with the weather heating up this month, you’re probably looking to cook less and less. That’s what I love about using my air fryer. It cooks some delicious meals without all the heat! Check out these air fryer meals and lunch recipes to keep your kitchen cool this month!
Choose from Two Meal Plans
The regular meal plan includes slow cooker meals on Sundays and Wednesdays, for a break in the kitchen or to use on those busy days. There are a variety of meats and seafood with some seasonal salads to break it up just a bit. And on Friday nights we have grilled meals as we welcome summer.
Or choose the Instant Pot Meal Plan. On this plan, I have included some delicious seasonal meals with a variety of meats (fish, chicken, pork, beef), plus a few salads. And the suggestions for breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and desserts at the bottom are all Instant Pot recipes too!
There is a variety of meats (fish, chicken, beef, pork) as well as salads (on both plans) to keep the whole family happy. My hope each month is that you will find some new favorites to add to your own must-have rotation.
As always, feel free to move any of the recipes around as needed to fit your family’s schedule. You can also combine the two for more variety. And if you’d like to switch up some of the Slow Cooker Meals to an Instant Pot recipe, check out this Instant Pot beginners post for a great link to help!
