Tired of the same old traditions during Easter that are all about candy or a bunny and nothing about Christ? These various ways to have a meaningful Easter celebration with your family will be your introduction to a more purposeful and Christ-centered focus to your holiday.
Honestly, I see nothing wrong with giving your kids Easter baskets, having an Easter egg hunt, or buying hollowed-out chocolate bunnies.
However, having all that without the truth about Easter is doing your family a severe disservice. It is actually missing an excellent opportunity to learn the true meaning of the holiday.
The power and holiness that comes as the foundation of the Easter holiday is a discovery that can be pivotal to your family’s relationship with God.
Don’t be ashamed about not focusing on this in the past. Condemnation won’t do anything for you.
Just look to Christ and look forward to the emphasis you will put on further Easter holidays to glorify and make known the good news of the Scriptures.
Luke 23 through 24 is the Easter story to share with our families; the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior.
If you are a Christian, explaining the narrative of Easter in its true context and meaning is unavoidable. We must speak about the betrayal, the crucifixion, the death, the burial, the resurrection, and rebirth.
Teaching one without the other is not telling the full story of Easter. It isn’t easy, but you can balance the betrayal and death with hope unimaginable.
The best thing to do with your kids is to read the full texts that depict the start of Easter and provide various activities for them to understand its meaning.
As you read these chapters with your family, keep in mind the importance of Easter’s purpose and keep it Christ-focused . . . and why not throw in some fun and engaging activities to help them remember the concepts which make Easter so important to our Christian walk.

As a Christian, can you imagine trying to find the meaning of Easter without Christ? It is easy to get caught up in the commercialized aspects of the season. However fun, it is ever more crucial to tell your kids the true meaning of the death and resurrection of Jesus.
So, of course, by all means, have your little girls wear pretty pastel dresses and keep up that Easter egg hunt. BUT be intentional about the most serious information that we could ignore should we choose to not tell them the truth about the Easter holiday.
