There’s no question that World War II was a major part of modern history. Help your students learn more about five major battles and what made them significant with this FREE Battles of World War II Copywork.

This FREE Battles of World War II Copywork unit is a great way you can combine history and handwriting practice to help encourage students who are reluctant in one to enjoy both.
This resource includes five units, one for each major battle. Each unit includes several paragraphs that introduce students to the battle. It gives students the big picture and includes major events, key leaders, dates, and a key vocabulary word. Following the text is the vocabulary word and definition that students can copy.
Next is a list of facts that students can copy onto the lined pages that follow. Facts include information such as:
- date(s) of the battle
- location of the battle
- the Allied leader(s)
- the Axis leader(s)
- who was victorious
- who lost the battle
Students can record other information about the battles that they learn on an additional lined page that is included for each battle. This 31-page unit is a great way to introduce your students to the:
- Battle of Dunkirk
- Battle of Britain
- Battle of Stalingrad
- Battle of Anzio
- Battle of the Bulge
