Whether you’re in your first year of homeschooling or your kids are almost ready for graduation, Rebecca Farris, the CEO and Founder of The Well Planned Gal, has an important message that all homeschool moms need to hear: don’t lose yourself.
Farris admits that the stereotypical homeschooler is a very generous person. While that is certainly a positive characteristic, she also knows that we can all use the reminder that we are just as valuable as our children and our spouse. Because of that, we cannot lose sight of own physical and mental health.

As she wrote in a letter titled “Dear New Homeschool Mom,” it’s okay to ask for help.
“Since I have a tendency to forget my blessings, I am thankful for this constant reminder that I simply cannot do this on my own,” she wrote. “I need God’s help every. single. day.”
In addition, as Farris reflected on the final days of her homeschool journey, she was reminded that she shouldn’t put her full identity in being a homeschool mom.
“We must realize instead that [homeschool mom] is just a temporary title that we hold for only a limited portion of our time here on Earth,” she wrote in a post titled “Shelf Life of a Homeschool Mom.” “God wants us to live fully and abundantly through every stage of life, and He still has more in store for us!”
