Help your kids learn more about ten of the key battles that shaped the American Civil War and work in some print handwriting practice at the same time with this FREE Battles of the Civil War Copywork.
There are ten units in this resource. Each unit begins with a few paragraphs that introduce the battle and give kids the big picture of not only what took place but also why the battle was important. After each unit introduction is a key vocabulary word and definition that students can copy.
Next is a list of facts that students can copy onto the lined pages that follow. Facts include information such as:
- date(s) of the battle
- location of the battle
- the Union leader(s)
- the Confederate leader(s)
- who was victorious
- who lost the battle
- other noteworthy events
An additional lined page is also included for each battle so students can record other information about the battles that they learn. This 53-page unit is a great way to introduce your students to the:
