I loved celebrating my mother when I was younger. We always went out to lunch after church so my mom didn’t have to cook or clean up. I remember making her more handmade cards and gifts than I can count. Homemade Mothers Day Card Ideas

One thing I always remember was the look on my mom’s face when she opened our handmade gifts. The joy on her face and the tears were something I didn’t understand until I had children of my own.

Receiving those sweet, handmade gifts and cards from my kids brings me more joy than any expensive gift I could ever get.

Some kids are really crafty and creative, while others need a little help in the craft department. We have put together some of the best ideas of crafts and handmade cards that your kids can make for Mother’s Day. 

Mother’s Day Handprint Crafts

These crafts use your child’s handprints and sometimes fingerprints to create the base of the craft. These are always so special and great for younger kids. These sweet ideas make the perfect gift that you can look back on over the years, remember those little hands that made them, and see your kids grow.

You can even adapt some of these ideas and use them for other special occasions!

Handmade Mother’s Day Crafts for Older Kids

These Mother’s Day crafts are a little more involved, but have a beautiful end result. They are great handicrafts for older children to work on as a keepsake that will last a long time. Moms will really appreciate the effort that goes into a handmade gift.

Stamped Clay Trinket Dishes – These trinket dishes are an easy craft since they use air dry clay. The final product is pretty impressive and looks store bought, but you can make it right at home with this detailed tutorial. 

10-Minute DIY Milk & Honey Soap – This goat milk and honey melt and pour soap takes only 10 minutes and you can make it in any fun mold.

Painted Daisy Mason Jars – Painted mason jars fit any style of decor. These are a great gift idea that can be customized to mom’s favorite color.

Mother’s Day Photo Crafts

My kids have always enjoyed making handmade cards for me. What mom’s heart doesn’t thrill to receive homemade Mother’s Day cards? These can also double as a last minute gift.

Don’t let the idea homemade cards scare you. They don’t have to be hard to make, and you don’t have to turn your house inside out to get the supplies together. Printable Mother’s Day Cards

Store bought cards are very expensive, but sometimes your kids may not have time to make you a card. These printable Mother’s Day cards are an easy way for your children to still have something to give on Mother’s Day. Just choose a free template from one of these beautiful cards to get started. Many just require a printer, a piece of paper, and writing utensils.

There are all sorts of ways your kids can personalize and dress them up. Encourage them to draw a picture of something that mom likes or that they love about mom! Maybe your older kids would enjoy adding a heartfelt message or a Mother’s Day poem.
