I have heard of paper product alternatives for years. I know several people who, for one reason or another, use them on a regular basis. As a family who lives life on the road, we don’t have a lot of storage so space is definitely an issue. But I love the idea of not having so much waste and trash too.
In light of all the recent shutdowns, we have seen a steady decline in some of our commonly used household items. I know toilet paper is still hard to find in many places and other paper goods are not fully stocked either.
Several years ago we did away with paper towels in our home, at least for the most part. We have towels for the kitchen and bathroom, so we try to use those first. However, we always had a small stock of paper towels just in case. But when the crisis hit, we couldn’t find them for weeks!
And when we were really low on our choice for toilet paper, I started to worry. It is literally the only one that doesn’t break me out or cause me an allergic reaction. So that got me thinking about alternatives. What could we do if this ever happened again (heaven forbid!).
And I was amazed at what I found. This is quite a popular topic and some people have been using paper alternatives for years! I was definitely intrigued.
