Are you as excited for Spring as I am? Grab this free Spring Sound Hunt to build listening skills as you explore the outdoors with your little. It’s much like a treasure hunt, but in this hunt, we’re finding sounds and making the sounds we hear.
Listening is the beginning of musicianship! Focused listening heightens awareness of our surroundings. It helps children hear the differences in the sounds around them. Listening builds attention skills and impulse control! Woohoo!
A sound hunt is a great way for children to intentionally interact with sounds in their environment in order to become a better listener! This kind of focused listening increases the ability to tell the difference between the sounds they hear every day. Musicianship is all about sound discrimination!
The Spring Sound Hunt features sounds found in:
- The Neighborhood
- Nature
- The Home
It also includes prompts for drawing favorite sounds discovered during the hunt!
