Every building has a story. A building’s story doesn’t just include what has happened inside its walls. Its design, building history, and the architects who worked on it are also stories worth discovering. These FREE Architects and World Landmarks Fact Cards give students a place to start discovering these stories from all around the world by introducing them to 40 landmarks and their architects.
This is a great addition to a STEM unit study on architects and architecture!
This FREE Architects and World Landmarks Fact Cards unit starts with 4 cheat sheets that list 40 world landmarks along with key years (such as the year it opened or the years it was constructed), the city and country where it is located, and its architect(s).
Next are 40 fact cards that include full-color images of each landmark along with the information from the cheat sheets. The unit ends with 40 blank fact cards that include the images of the landmarks in black and white and space for students to fill in the information.
There are many ways you can use these FREE Architects and World Landmarks Fact Cards. You can use them on their own or you can use them to launch other projects. Kids can color the landmarks if they choose. They can enjoy finding all the locations on a map. Your older students might enjoy researching some of the architects mentioned in the unit and investigating what else they designed.
It’s a simple, no-prep activity that can lead to further research and discovery.
