The symptoms we experience with fear are real and can take a toll on us spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. We want to overcome fear for good, yet often, overcoming fear is continuous as we face new battles.

This world is a fallen, sinful world. So it doesn’t matter how old you are, whether you’re male or female, we’re all affected by fear.

BUT, it’s what we do with fear that determines whether it remains a part of our lives or not.

30-Day Overcome Fear Scripture Challenge

According to 1 John 4:18 in the Bible, fear has torment. Torment is defined as extreme pain, anguish, and the utmost degree of misery.

The enemy knows the potential of our relationship with God and what we’re capable of doing as we grow closer to Him. He also knows that fear is the door by which he can begin to have us doubt who God is. This is probably why you read so often in the Bible the Lord’s caution: “Do not fear”, “Fear not” or “Do not be afraid”. God knows that the very thing holding us back from experiencing His plan for our lives has its root in fear.

Perfect Love Casts Out All Fear

It’s important that we recognize the devices of the devil. The enemy brings out questions that sow seeds of doubt in our mind about God’s nature. Our minds are powerful and we can convince ourselves of anything whether good and healthy or fearful and unhealthy. We need to meditate on the Truth through studying the Bible so that we can pluck up the seeds of doubt as they appear and overcome fear when it surfaces.

In the Bible, I’ve found that there are times after the Lord has said, “Fear not”, that He personally reveals to that person who He is to them. Our Father is personal because He cares for and loves us.

1 John 4:18-19 NKJV says,

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.

Consider spending time in the Word of God reminding yourself of who God says He is to you and who you are in Him. Why not read a scripture day with this FREE 30-day Overcome Fear Scripture Challenge from Wildly Anchored and see how the Lord will reveal Himself to you.
