If your kids are like mine, getting them to brush their teeth can be a bit of a challenge. It seems like we get them in the habit and turn them loose only to find they slip up and get lazy. It’s a crazy back and forth as they get older and finally begin to take on that responsibility themselves.
When they were young, my kids did not like going to the dentist. In fact, my youngest boys pretty much clinched their jaws so tight we needed the jaws of life to pry them open for the dentist to just take a look. So trying to get them to let us brush their teeth has been a definite challenge.
However, my older kids just need a little reminder every now and then. We’ve tried tracking charts and routine charts to help them, but really it is just about building that habit in them. Of course, gentle reminders don’t hurt either.
The month of February is National Children’s Dental Health Month, which means it’s the perfect time to start new habits, solidify old ones and teach kids why dental health is so important.
Use these free printables and activities to help teach kids about dental health and teeth during the month of February.
