I remember when I first learned how to sew. I was never taught growing up, but I am pretty crafty, so I figured I could teach myself. This took a lot of trial and error. Luckily I had a friend that helped me learn how to thread my first needle, but I often found myself alone at home trying to fight with my machine and got very frustrated. Later, I was at an event at church, and I saw some other moms sewing and they had all these tips and tricks up their sleeves. I couldn’t believe some of these simple hacks that changed my sewing time forever!
Sewing can be frustrating if you have never been taught before. It can be so rewarding, and is such a great handicraft to pass down to your children. I encouraged myself to figure out how to sew, because I wanted to be able to teach my own daughters. I still consider myself a beginner, and and am still learning. There are many things that you need to learn when you are starting out. It can be hard to remember all of them, and it’s nice when you find hacks that can make the process easier and less overwhelming.
