It is also all about timing. I – unfortunately – started my daughter on a straight full curriculum online course her first year homeschooling. It was horrible. Not the curriculum, it just didn’t do well with her socially being at a computer for hours a day. I learned a lot since then.
However, since I learned a better way to homeschool that fits my family, my kids are now begging to take courses online. These classes made them think for themselves and encouraged independent learning – skills so needed nowadays.
I let them take at least two online courses a year and add field trips and other fun stuff alongside them.
