If you are learning about Ancient History in your homeschool, you will be studying Ancient Egypt soon. Learning about Ancient Egypt has always been one of our most favorite and memorable time periods we have studied. There are so many fun things you can do when learning about Egypt that really helps to make history come alive.
If you are using a main history spine for world history you may find that it doesn’t spend a long time on a particular time period, and usually moves forward rather quickly. We have found this to be difficult when there is a particular subject we find exciting and fun. Learning about Egypt is one of those!
When we come to Egypt in our history studies, my kids get so excited that they want to keep learning. This is where I like to do some extra enrichment activities. We continue on with our regular history spine so we don’t get behind, but we may spend a few extra afternoons learning more about Egypt. We have built pyramids out of sugar cubes, and legos, wrapped each other up in toilet paper like mummies, made mummy stuffed animals and more!
Maybe you don’t have a history spine that you use and you enjoy using unit studies for your History curriculum. If you are wanting to study Ancient Egypt I have put together lots of fun printable to help you create your own history study on Ancient Egypt.
