You never can truly appreciate the body and its functions, until you are able to NOT use a part of it. Let a foot be in pain or hand be injured. You would quickly realize just how important that one body part is. Teach your children about the body and all of its intricate parts which are fearfully and wonderfully made. This project to make articulated hands with movable joints and tendons will go great with a unit like this while you are teaching about hands or extremities.

How to Make an Articulated Model of a Hand

Creating an articulated hand (with cool movable fingers) can help you explain the anatomy of a hand and demonstrate how tendons function inside your hand and how much one tendon affects the rest.

Your kids will also learn about how in the hand are arteries and veins that transport blood to and from your fingertips.
