Football season begins this weekend. I am probably not your typical girl, but I love football. Specifically college football. I follow it like crazy and we plan our Saturday around game time – to an extent. My oldest son is a huge football fan too. My other kids will join us and watch, but honestly, they can take it or leave it.
They just come for the food.
Oh sure, they love cheering on “our team,” but they really don’t care to sit and watch the game(s) with us. And that’s okay. I just love that we can all cheer together and enjoy the game. Sometimes we get a little loud, but even that makes my heart smile. We have a common bond in that moment – food and football.
So of course with football season starting up, I started thinking about food. We are often a little lazier on Saturdays with our meals and typically do leftovers. However, many times we have friends or family over, so we need quick, easy and lots of food ideas.
That being said, I also like to have themed food for gatherings, it makes me feel like a Pinterest-Mom without actually being one. So when I found out there was a whole list of football shaped food out there, I knew I had to check them out!
And you all…I am so excited for this football season!! Even if we don’t have friends or family over for the games, I can’t wait to use some of these recipes and ideas for our own family. My kids get excited for themed foods and it really seems to just add to the fun.
