Summer time means planning time for many homeschoolers. With planning, you either love it or you hate it. I tend to wait until the last minute to plan out my year. I like to take a little bit of time in the summer as a vacation without having to think about planning anything. Yet when it’s time to plan I am all in!
As you are beginning to plan your next school year I am sure you are looking for planners to help you with this task. Next week we will be focusing on planners just for homeschool moms, but this week we will focus on your kids.
I love having my kids responsible for their own work. A great way to do this is by giving each one of your students their very own planner. I like to start this at age 10 and up. Each week they sit down and fill out what they need to do for the next week with guidance from me. Then they check off their subjects as they are done with them, or when I need to check off their work. This really helps them with time management and organization skills.
There are lots of free printable planners available that I like to let my kids pick their very own. They really enjoy being a part of the planning process with their school work. It gets them excited about the new year, and the ownership of their school work builds discipline and responsibility. I love how many options and styles are available with planners to have them really make it personal for them.
