I once worked in a very small country that had many people with higher education. The number of scholarships and opportunities available to this third-world country made it possible for the people to access quality education in larger countries. They did have an obligation to return home and work the same amount of years they were on the scholarship/training.
One thing I noticed by working with many of the graduates was that they were really qualified to do the work — on paper. But, when it came to practicality and thinking analytically about situations or troubleshooting for improvements, it was really hard for them to do.
There is a dire need in our society, for all sectors of employment and self-employment, to be able to think critically. So many people aren’t able to work out this skill or apply critically thinking to improve processes, to learn new skills, work with others, or to just figure out how to troubleshoot issues.
