I will admit that I have not in the past trusted God with my home finances. I grew up pretty poor and sometimes worked two-three jobs as a single mom as a young adult just to make ends meet. When I grew to know the Lord, I knew I needed to trust Him. I didn’t, however, know how to fully trust Him with the thing I have been trying so hard to get all those years – money.
There are just somethings in life we don’t commit to the Lord right away. I surely gave my tithe to the church. However, I knew that there was something “more” to trusting God than giving only out of obligation.
We should be giving the Lord our all, but what does that mean? People have to depend on themselves for so long that when we have to depend on the Lord for all things, we are not quite sure what that looks like. Finances, I think are one of the things hardest to commit to Him. I think a part of this is that we don’t realize that we aren’t submitting our trust to Him in this area.
Read some insight about this subject and challenge yourself to finally trust Him in this. He is the author and finisher. I sometimes wonder what we would be capable of if we truly trust Him in it ALL.
