I never thought I would hear the question, “What do Jesus and the planet Venus have in common?” It was so completely random that I had to stop and see what it was all about. It truly is an odd question, but doesn’t it spark curiosity in you as well?
Knowing that astronomy was part of the daily lives of people in the ancient world, we find many fascinating insights — right from God’s holy Word.
I have to admit, I have never given astronomy much thought as a connection with the Bible. All I knew was that it stated in Matthew 2 that after Jesus was born the wise men saw His star in the East and followed it to worship Him.
There are so many instances where God uses the stars, seasons, the moon and more of the like in His Word. Now my kids and I want to do a whole study concerning some of the Scriptural references to astronomy in the Bible.
