If your children are fascinated with space and learning about the night sky and planets, they will enjoy learning about the solar system. This can be done in a unit study format where you pick a planet and focus on that planet for a little bit of time, and go through all of them until you have learned the whole solar system.
I love teaching my children in an immersive way, where we do lots of hand-on activities, experiments, crafts, read books and watch videos on a specific topic. I have found that they retain the information so much better that way.
There are tons of free printables and activities to immerse your children into learning about the solar system that you can do it for FREE without even using a curriculum.
We have compiled a big list of free solar system resources over the years that I thought this would be a good place to put them all together. In doing so, we have come up with The Ultimate List of Solar System Freebies, even including FREE Instant downloads!
