The first sentence in the article I want to share below is, “Don’t forget Jesus on Your Vacation!” The article describes 7 strategies for Christian parents to ensure we are not forgetting Christ while we are on our adventures. I wonder if we should tell ourselves, “Don’t forget Christ!” in more than just our vacations.
It is completely true that once we are planning a vacation, the foremost things on our minds are having fun, relaxing, setting up visits and site seeing. I wonder if we ever really stop to think about how we can make Christ the focus of our vacations, instead of just thanking Him for it afterward. Should He really be our afterthought?
Should we not seek His face before our trips, before our decisions, before our plans? The post shares a scripture that really touched my heart. I have read it before, but God’s Word is truly living and alive. The scripture jumped out at me as if it were the very first time I had read it.
Psalm 139:7 says, “Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?”
God is truly everywhere, He is in everything. We should seek Him ever much more because of that alone.
If you are planning a trip soon or maybe getting away this summer, you will not want to miss how to put things back to a Christian perspective by including God in your vacation.
