Libraries…I bet you love them. Most homeschool moms do.
We live on the county line and our closest library is only about 5 miles away…but it falls in the OTHER county. I have to pay $100 a year to use it OR travel 30-45 minutes in traffic to the library in my county. UGH
I can assure you when we go to our county library, I ALWAYS have late fees!
I learned about a new website recently that is going to solve my problem; I’m pretty excited about it. I can’t wait until you take a look at it too.
Reading IQ offers unlimited reading for kids 12 and under! The best thing about this site is that the books are ALL kid-friendly and broken down by age group. You will find a wide range of genres and styles, including nonfiction, realistic fiction, fantasy, poetry, and much more!
You can monitor your child’s progress and have confidence that it’s a 100% safe and kid-friendly environment with NO ads! You can view detailed reports on how many books your child is reading, the level he or she is reading at, and more.
ReadingIQ is the complete digital library that your child can access at any time on a computer, tablet, or phone.
You can sign up and get a FREE month to check it out and access unlimited books during this time. There are 3 profiles you can set-up, so you can keep track of the reading progress for up to 3 children. After 30 days you can renew for just $7.99 a month.
ReadingIQ is CHEAPER than our annual, non-resident library membership fee and there are NO LATE FEES! I will likely still use my public library from time to time, but this will be so much more useful to me. Do you want to check it out for yourself?
Please note: just like visiting a regular library, you may want to pre-screen the books before allowing your children to read them for appropriate content.
