Are you planning on teaching your students about the solar system? Many times during science lessons regarding the solar system children are taught about each planet and the sun and moon, but some of the fascinating things are left out, such as those of the Seven Wonders of the Solar System.
Much like the other Seven Wonders of the World categories, some of these scientific wonders are not really included in science lessons specifically, but they should be!
The response has been so wonderful to our reading comprehension units that we decided to expand this new theme by adding notebooking pages built right in, rather than just text, questions, and answers.
Students will read the non-fiction passage about one of seven fascinating wonders of our solar system and answer the comprehension questions orally or use the written response sheets. There are also a blank notebooking pages included that have an area to sketch each specific topic.
There are seven reading comprehension lessons in this unit, all based on the Seven Wonders of the Solar System. Students will learn about:
- Surface of the sun
- Oceans of Earth
- Olympus Mons of Mars
- Main asteroid belt
- Great Red Spot of Jupiter
- Rings of Saturn
- Enceladus
This reading comprehension unit has been reformatted and expanded and is no longer free.
It is now included as part of the Nonfiction Reading Comprehension, Written Narration & Research resource found in our store. This full year reading comprehension unit is so much more than just reading comprehension. Click here to learn more.
