Classical homeschooling is such a rich education. There’s ancient history, Latin and Greek, great philosophers and their logic. But classical learning is also an approach to be applied to modern history, the increasingly diverse subjects of science & technology. And, let’s not forget grammar, language arts, and writing.
Classical learning is a perfect foundation on which to build an education that promotes a broad worldview while maintaining a Christian perspective.

“Curriculum: Making the Best Choice.”
Curriculum Shopping Then
In the past, curriculum shopping amounted to picking a curriculum from here and a unit study from there. It was the way to patchwork piece a classical curriculum together and hope it lasted for all the kids to use it. I’ll admit, I really liked those sturdy covers on textbooks!

But it’s a new era of homeschooling, isn’t it? Digital this, download that. Hoping you can keep it all organized on your computer and that the computer doesn’t die before the last kid gets through all the digital files. It’s still almost as cumbersome as clearing the table of all those books every day for lunch, snack, and dinner.

Classical Homeschool Curriculum the Kids Enjoy!
Find out why we love Compass Classroom so much. Read about our experience with Visual Latin. Dwane has been part of our curriculum for 4 years now. My oldest has successfully completed Visual Latin 1 & 2 and has gone on to higher Latin curricula because of the success provided in middle school using this online, streamable Latin course. Visual Latin has brought a rich foundation to our homeschool.
We have also had excellent success with their American History curriculum. Next school year, we look forward to studying the Romans & the Greeks for literature, as well as digging deep into poetry.
Compass Classroom offers a well-rounded selection of middle and high school courses for the classical homeschool that kids really enjoy.
