The word STEM is a new term that we did not have in school when we were growing up. It stands for Science, Engineering, Technology and Math. STEM is an educational philosophy that ties all of these subjects together with lessons that have projects and experiments that create an immersive learning experience.
STEM teaches important skills that our children can learn in real life and that they will use in everyday situations. STEM gets children excited about the subjects that used to be boring and “nerdy!”
I have been blown away by how many fun and exciting activities are available in the STEM genre. It really does make the subjects we dreaded learning as children, exciting and creative today. If you have children that enjoy STEM activities and projects, they will love finding different activities to do to go with specific topics.
