Pretzels are one of my favorite snacks. Whenever I’m craving something salty, I almost always grab some pretzels. And one of my favorite things to do is pair the salty snack with a sweet treat. Chocolate and pretzels always go well together.
But there are more options than just chocolate. I’ve also enjoyed peanut butter with pretzels, melted cheese, and even mustard a time or two.
And while I’m not the best cook, I do love to explore new recipes. And if they can combine two things I love, even better. Combining sweet treats with a little bit of salty is arguable one of the best match-ups I can think of when it comes to food.
April 26th is National Pretzel Day. You probably didn’t know such a day existed, but since it does…you might as well plan accordingly, right? I’ve gathered some recipes that incorporate pretzels into them as alternative crusts to pies, the crunchy ingredient or as part of the main feature.
Most of these are dessert-type recipes, so don’t go crazy, but I think planning ahead and making two or three to taste-test throughout the day in celebration is a fantastic idea!
