How is your family prepared for emergencies in your home? If your household can use some help with being prepared for an emergency, then this emergency folder will be just what you need to get ready. Creating a file full of information your family needs handy in an emergency is a beneficial way to lower the stress in a crisis.
This guidance for an emergency folder helps you to know what to include, where you should keep it, and how to make things simple for your entire family. You may not think you need one, but it is worth taking the time to develop one.
I have to tell you about a funny instance that happened to my family. I am from the East coast of the U.S. I had never been in an earthquake before, so when my family moved to an island where earthquakes were prevalent we wanted to be prepared.
We developed a written plan and packed an emergency bag. In our first earthquake, we woke up the kids (it was about 5:00 a.m.) and we ran outside. We look around and saw that NONE of our neighbors even came outside. Our family was laughing at us since earthquakes are so commonplace here.
What I am glad about is that we are ready should any real emergency happen. Although earthquakes happen frequently, we never know when they could be really life-threatening. Develop an emergency folder and feel more prepared for life’s unexpected occurrences.
