If you have sons, you will no doubt have moments that cause your heart to race or even skip a beat. This list of hands-on hobbies for your sons may definitely make your heart race, but it is worth your boys giving them a try. You will even find a hobby on this list that you think may not belong, but it completely does. Hobbies are incredibly important for boys. If you take a step back to just watch your son as he plays, you will see that there are certain things he is drawn to naturally. You can learn to fill your child’s youth with manly hobbies to help them as they grow.
I have a confession, so please don’t judge me. Well, I would judge me if I were you, but here goes. I went from living in Florida and never letting my kids go outside to play without me present, to living the island life. Boy, did that flip my mind and precautions upside down. My son was already rough around the edges before we moved. Many of my husband’s family members would say he acted as if he was raised back in the islands. I didn’t quite know what that meant until I got here.
Now, I get it. My son is a coconut tree climbing, nature exploring, permanent t-shirt stain wearing, machete owning, healthy, and tough boy. Yes, he owns his own machete. My husband takes my son with him to the “bush”, which is the plantation where they grow and tend to root crops for the family and to offer as gifts to friends and family. Things have changed a whole lot, but I have learned that boys need hobbies and some of those hobbies can be “nail-biting” for us– but that is OK.
I purposefully haven’t told you what hobbies Better Way Homeschool has shared with you because I want you to enjoy the read as I did.
