How can we help our children develop their OWN faith? We can study God’s word with our kids every day, however, encouraging them to do it on their own is a whole new challenge. So many young adults walk away from the church that we have to question what is going wrong. I think most of it is that we feel Jesus day in and Jesus day out at home will turn a child’s heart towards Him. However, in fact, we must release that control, because only God can change a heart. We merely train a child in the way they should go. That is the part we can adjust, so read this post for help in modeling and pointing our children to make their own quiet time apart from us. After all, it is their walk and their decision to follow.
