If your child is just learning to write, you may want to understand why letter formation is so important. Check out some reasons why we should focus on it for fluency, and learn a few strategies to help children practice the skill. The best way to get your preschooler excited about writing letters is to make it fun. There are many ways to make it fun, which they won’t think is a drag. Some ways are through coloring pages, letter searches, and even letter mazes. I wish I would have tried harder when my son was learning to write. He has developed some bad habits and his handwriting is illegible most of the time. I have started getting him to do some tracing during quiet time, just for practice.
