It is so important to equip our children with real life lessons to apply to their everyday lives. Teaching our children about financial literacy is essential and this post will explain just how to do it. I remember as a young adult, already in the military, not knowing how to write a check, let alone balance a checkbook. Granted I had a rough upbringing and that wasn’t a priority for me then. However, know that I know better, I also know that this is something I can equip my child with. We can set up our children for success, from budgeting to balancing a checkbook, saving and investing, taxes, and more.
In my daughter’s Senior year of high school last year, we used Foundations in Personal Finance High School Edition by Dave Ramsey and she earned a lot and really enjoyed the course.
