If you have been a follower of HSG for any length of time you probably know that we love Clear Water Press‘ products. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed this self-teaching DVD curriculum that teaches writing for middle school and high school grades through super-high quality videos and texts.
We have homeschooled since the beginning and successfully graduated our first homeschooler this past spring. Like many homeschooling families, we have tired a lot of various curricula in search of products that were a prefect fit for our homeschool. I have always loved the idea of video curriculum (and so did my daughter), however most of the DVD curriculum available for homeschoolers (that we tried) was cheesy and boring. This is not so with Cover Story, One Year Adventure Novel and Byline. Honestly, Clear Water Press DVD curriculum is movie quality production and my daughter loved it!
This past May I was able to meet Daniel Schwabauer, the author of all 3 curriculum sets, at the FPEA Convention in Orlando. I have been partnering with him for over 5 years now, sharing his amazing resources with you. He is one of the nicest guys I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
My daughter did a review of Cover Story after she finished it in 8th grade. She is super hard to please when it comes to video/DVD curriculum, and as I mentioned above we had a difficult time finding something that would not bore her to tears. I also reviewed Byline last year and you can read that here. Seriously, I cannot recommend this homeschool DVD curriculum enough!
Cover Story is for students in grades 6-9 (middle school range). They will love this curriculum that leads them, step by step, in creating their own magazine content. The engaging DVD lessons teach homeschooled students to write short stories, nonfiction articles, poems, and more.
Byline is written for 8th–12th graders and transports students back to the 1930s-era and gives them the role as a newspaper reporter. How fun is that?
One Year Adventure Novel is for high school students and will walk them through the process of writing a full novel in just one school year. The DVD curriculum will be exciting for your upper grade students and they will thoroughly enjoy this high quality, self-taught homeschool writing curriculum for high schoolers.
Mr. Schwabauer is offering a FREE book that provides methods and mindsets that have made all three of his programs extremely successful among students and parents alike. Be sure to grab it and put it to good use in your homeschool.
FREE Book for Homeschoolers: Curiosity Saved the Cat teaches you how to instill a life-long love of learning in your student.
If your teachers had read this… You wouldn’t have been bored in school! Help your students LOVE writing.
