Starting a business with your kids should be a priority and you can help them with this free build your own bakery activity pack. I have been guilty of drilling college into my kids since birth. I would find myself saying things like, “you will be a great doctor one day” as I kissed my giggling baby. I know I am not alone, right? Well, maybe, but I did not want my kids to go through what I went through. I had to put myself through college as a mom, and it was hard. I didn’t want them to go through that hardship, so I encouraged and sometimes still encourage them to go straight to college after high school.
I have, however, lived a little now and I see that there are way more things that are way more useful than a college degree. It is crucial we teach our kids how to sustain themselves, budget their money, manage their time, take care of their customers, learn basic life skills and build good character traits. You can incorporate all of these essential skills of life learning into your homeschool day. Running their own business is a priceless educational tool in homeschool. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to equip kids with owning their business one day. And they don’t have to go to college to do it. (I know that is hard to hear for some of us, myself included.)
