If your child has made a profession of faith, you either have or may in the future question their salvation. Jesus teaches that it’s possible to be deceived about our salvation. Salvation is a serious consideration for all of us, we even are told in the Bible to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith. When it comes to someone who claims to have been saved at a very early age, it seems especially questionable. Is there a true understanding at a young age? Do your kids have enough information and awareness to “count the cost” (Luke 14:25-34) of following Jesus? You don’t want to doubt someone’s salvation, but if the thought crosses your mind, know you are not alone.
