We love the 4th of July! Our country’s heritage is rich and inviting to dive into! It’s filled with excitement, intrigue, betrayal, and conflict. For our youngest students, it can seem daunting to tackle our history without getting heavy and dark. However, as our country moves into the future and traditional, patriotic values begin to fall by the wayside, the importance in teaching our history becomes more important than ever before.
While Independence Day doesn’t fall during a traditional school year calendar, there’s no reason not to take this opportunity to teach our youngest learners, from the start, how important this holiday is for our history- and for our future. This unit study is an eclectic mix of Classical and Charlotte Mason-inspired. In it, you will find a 3-day schedule (which can be expanded or narrowed) that includes the following:
- Daily Reading (using The 4th of July Story by Alice Dalgliesh)
- Projects + Activities
- Memory Statements
This Unit is on SALE now through June 21 at midnight for ONLY 99¢. Head to Life, Abundantly to check it out now!
