The first time I remember really “wanting” to visit Vermont was after watching (and falling in love with) White Christmas. It is my all-time favorite, have-to-watch-every-year Christmas movie and of course, most of it takes place in Vermont. After my grandparents visited the state, I fell in love with the architecture, history and of course, Fall. Who doesn’t want to see Vermont in the Fall! I can’t wait until we can visit!
Vermont is only 80 miles wide and 160 miles long, making it the 45th largest (or 6th smallest) state in the Union. Since we didn’t make it up that way before winter hit, we’ll have to settle for learning more about it through our geography studies and online. If you’d like to learn more about the state, use the amazing resources below. There are printables to help kids learn about the state’s history, geography, symbols, plus crafts and activities. You could even cook up some of the states favorite and most famous recipes with your unit!
