In college I had the privilege of doing an inner-city type mission trip to Virginia. We visited a former professor at his church and learned about church planting and all the details of starting satellite campuses. It was very eye-opening. During our trip, we were able to take a couple days for sight-seeing. We visited Virginia Beach, where the ocean is still FREEZING in March, by the way. We were also able to drive by Norfolk and see all the massive battleships, as well as a quick trip in to Washington D.C. for a day. I cannot wait to take my family there one day so they can see the East coast too!
And of course, since we do plan to visit one day, I want the kids to learn about different places we want to visit. This helps the kids get excited about it and even look forward to it. If you’ve never been there, you can join us as we learn about Virginia with these great resources I have gathered. Each state has a unique history, fun facts and wonderful sites to see, so get exploring!
