We go through so much as women. So, when it comes to our husbands having tough times, we can find it hard to be there for them in the way they need us to. My husband worked throughout our whole marriage, however these last couple of years he has had to take a step down to care for his family’s land, livestock and some business affairs. It has been so hard for him knowing that we just have to live without, and we just can’t do what we used to. For a good while, I only thought of myself and the things I was going through because of this change. I gave no thought to what he was going through until everything came to a head and just blew up.
I had to take my eyes off of myself, to Christ and remember that as a brother in Christ, aside from being my husband… he needed me to support his difficult time as well. Now, I am more conscious about how he is dealing with things. Madison Weaver has shared some ideas to help you/me/us really encourage and love our husband through difficult times. We are their helpmeet and therefore, we meet them exactly where they are… and love them.
