Proverbs 27:19 says, “As a face is reflected in water, so the heart reflects the real person”. Once we speak what is in our heart, we can’t take it back. The scriptures say that whatever fills the heart bubbles up and flows through our mouths. To some of us that is scarier than most. As moms, we know just how hard life can get at times and how we can get frustrated in the little things, just as mush as the big. Nonetheless, we must make a choice. Like in Proverbs 27:19, we must be mindful of what our reflection will look like. Will we choose to display grace and encouragement or will we reflect frustration, anger, and bitterness? I, for one, have been on the latter side, which makes everything worse and not better. Join me and choose to make Christ the Lord of our lips. It can be done. Let’s be accountable for our words and for setting the mood in our homes to be Christ-filled.
